Children & Youth

Childcare
Childcare is provided during worship on Sunday mornings and LOGOS and AGAPE programs on Wednesday evenings and at other special times throughout the year. We have a paid childcare provider for our nursery available each Sunday morning for ages birth to 1 year. Childcare for our toddlers and pre-schoolers are lovingly provided by volunteers in our congregation who have completed DPC’s Child Protection Policy Training.

Sunday School
Sunday school classes are provided for all ages and meet each Sunday morning at 9:00 am. The focus for 3-5 year olds is Bible study. For children/youth in grades 1-12 the focus is to explore and experience how to follow Jesus’ command to serve others, using a variety of curricular resources. Grades 1-5 use the rotation schedule. Middle and High School youth use an online curriculum.

LOGOS
LOGOS is our mid-week ministry for children and youth in grades 1-12 providing Bible study, recreation, supper, and a variety of worship options, such as choir, handbells, drama, liturgical dance, and orchestra. LOGOS begins in the fall of each year, and continues through the school year with breaks at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Childcare is provided for pre-school children during LOGOS hours so that parents can participate in the LOGOS program. This ministry is led by over 50 adult volunteers who teach classes, set tables, cook food, wash dishes, eat dinner, play games, and lead choirs. By the grace of God through these adults, the children of Donelson Presbyterian Church experience the Kingdom of God living at its best.

Confirmation Class
Confirmation is the process of preparing youth to become active members of the church by helping them to explore their faith at a personal level, and learn about the mission and polity of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Classes are held on a regular basis as needed.
