Worship is something we do every day as we try to love others as God has loved us. But, like other Christians, we gather once a week for a special time in which we offer thanks to God in music, prayer, and mutual encouragement. We call these times “worship services.”
Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:15 am and normally ends at 11:15am. You may enter our church building on the east (left) or west (right) sides.
While our worship is traditional in structure, it is far from traditional in spirit. Worship revolves around dynamic preaching and music. Organ, piano, bells, bluegrass, adult and children choirs all participate during the year. Our drama team prepares special services during Advent and Holy Week.
Our youth participate in leading worship on a regular basis as liturgist and take responsibility for organizing and leading a worship service each year. Every Sunday, children come forward in worship for a special time with one of our adult storytellers.
We observe the liturgical calendar with special services in preparation for Christmas and Easter. These include evening services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Christmas Eve. The Lord’s Supper is normally observed on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome at His table.
“Come as you are and worship with us.”
Nursery and Childcare
We offer an exceptional nursery for infants and toddlers.
Sunday mornings: 9:00 – 12 Noon
Wednesday nights: 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Nursery is for children up to one (1) year of age. The Nursery is available 15 minutes prior to a worship service/event, and closes 15 minutes after it concludes. It is open for most special worship services including Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. It is also available during the Wednesday evening schedule. Childcare is also available during worship for children up to five (5) years.
At Donelson, we strive to maintain a safe, nurturing environment for your child. Our dedicated Nursery Staff and volunteers realize that you are allowing us to care for your precious ones. We will work with you to provide your children with an atmosphere of comfort and security while they are in our care. All nursery workers and teachers of children and youth must take our Child Protection Training class and employed staff must pass a security check. Our nursery and children’s classes are under constant security watch during our hours of operation.
In order to provide you with confident care for your children, we request your help in making sure our children are not exposed to recognizable illnesses and are ready to interact with other children in a safe and kind manner. Please make sure you provide your cell phone number to the nursery worker in case we need your help.
