Dr. Paul Casner, Pastor
I believe that God speaks to us especially in stories. I love hearing stories and telling how God has worked in the lives of people. The essential message of the Bible is that God is the spirit of love we see in the story of the Exodus, and in the story of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While struggling with doubt throughout life, these stories of love continue to bring me hope. I love music, and enjoy listening to everything from Mozart to Flatt and Scruggs to the Beatles to alt rock. I love playing guitar in bluegrass jams. I also enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my wife Nancy and my daughter Colleen. I was born and raised on a farm in southern Indiana. I attended Indiana University, Lipscomb University, Abilene Christian University, and earned a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Marquette University. During my years at Marquette, I was adjunct professor of theology at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. With over thirty years of experience in ministry, I have served churches in Indiana, Texas, New York, and Tennessee. I have served Donelson Presbyterian Church for over twenty-one years. I spent two years as a Music & Talent Coordinator for the Gospel Music Channel, now called UpTV, before finding a home at JKC Artist Group. At JKC Artist Group, I am primarily involved in the management of Amy Grant productions and acquiring and developing JKC Artist Group’s newer acts. [Read more...]

Thank you for the warm welcome here at Donelson Presbyterian. I'm a brand new "Tennessean" having just moved here from the Metro Detroit area in April of 2021. My husband (Jerry) and I were in full time ministry at a church in Livonia, MI for 25 years, he as the Worship & Counseling Pastor and me as the Administrator (for the past 13 years). I look forward to serving you and the Lord here at Donelson Presbyterian. [Read more...]
